The Apex Dermatology Group often conducts clinical trials to test new medications or treatments. In the past, these studies have included acne, psoriasis, melasma, atopic dermatitis, the use of chemical peels for acne treatment, and eczema.

Patients who volunteer and are selected for a clinical trial participate at no cost to them or their insurance companies. Patients are required to have regular office visits and follow all the treatment protocols. Medications and all exams are free; in addition, most studies reimburse participants for time and travel. All research programs have been approved by institutional review boards, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow safety guidelines.
